There are 3 types of awards given to outstanding art educators in BC:

1) BCATA Excellence in Art Education Awards
-These awards are given by the BCATA to outstanding visual arts educators at the following levels: Primary, Intermediate, Graduation, Post-Secondary, and Other

The BCATA also recognizes the contributions of art educators in our province through our affiliate organizations, the CSEA (Canadian Society for Education through Art) and the NAEA (The National Art Education Association). These awards provide national and international recognition.

2) CSEA Provincial Affiliate Award
-This award is given by the CSEA at their annual conference in the Fall. Nominations are sent to the BCATA vice-president

3) NAEA State/Province Art Educator Award
-This award is given by the NAEA at their annual convention in the Spring. Nominations are sent to the BCATA past-president
